Tortuga Lodge & Gardens is the perfect spot if you want peace, quiet, tranquility, and a beautiful jungle and riverfront setting to relax and enjoy nature. Tortuga Lodge is located directly across from the Tortuguero airstrip, just one mile north of the quaint town of Tortuguero. Meals are served family style and the atmosphere is laid-back. The Tortuguero jungle really delivers wildlife where you can see turtles, sloths, iguanas, geckos, bats, monkeys, poison dart frogs, snakes, vipers, many amazing birds, spiders, butterflies and dragonflies. For maximum value and enjoyment, it is recommended to stay a minimum of three nights. You will be treated to spacious rooms with screened windows that allow the cross-breezes, sounds and scents of the jungle to fill the space. The beach entry swimming pool is a nice place to hang out and relax in the afternoon before your delicious family-style dinner.

While designing the place, the priority was to respect the environment, that’s why 80% of the hotel is constructed 1.5 m (5 feet) above the ground. Restaurant, bungalows, and walking trails are built on stilts, it allows not only to protect the natural habitat of animals but also lets you enjoy the panoramic view of the tropical rainforest. Moreover, our determination to preserve the environment inspired us to create a Water Treatment Plant that prevents contamination of the waters in the area.
