The Tenorio River is a beautiful river that flows through the Guanacaste mountain range along a deep, red-rock canyon surrounded by magnificent landscapes of low, tropical and dry forest. Your family will be picked up from your hotel and drive for about 2 hours until you hit the rustic Guanacaste backroads. You’ll then take a thrilling 4×4 ride to the river put-in at the bridge over the Río Tenorio.
Every family member will receive a thorough safety briefing and get fitted for safety equipment -helmets, lifejackets and paddles. You’ll have time to practice with your guide and then enjoy a beautiful 2.5-hour rafting trip along impressive picturesque canyon of the Tenorio River. With over 22 adrenaline rushing rapids along 20 kilometres of river, your family will be creating memories to last a lifetime! A fresh fruit snack will be provided mid tour and there will be plenty of opportunities to view wildlife along the way like sloths, lizards and monkeys.
By now, your family has team work down pat, you’re ready to experience the thrill seeking finale of the river, a 12-foot waterfall drop called “Cascabel Falls!” Wow, what a rush!
When you arrive to the end of your exciting family rafting journey, it’s a short hike to the 4×4 vehicle to drive out of this unspoiled region of Costa Rica. Change rooms will be available and a delicious family lunch will be served! Next, your family will be ready to return to your hotel in time for a majestic sunset over the Pacific!
